Camp Okefenokee
Where Lives Are Changed
WELCOME TO CAMP OKEFENOKEE
A Week of Faith, Fun, Friendship, and Life-Changing Memories
Since 1983, Camp Okefenokee has welcomed campers for a week designed to encourage their hearts, strengthen their faith, and create memories that last long after camp ends.
What began as a humble ministry with rustic cabins and a pond swimming hole has grown into a meaningful camp experience with air-conditioned cabins, a cafeteria, chapel, canteen, outdoor recreation, and plenty of room for campers to enjoy God’s creation.
But the heart of Camp Okefenokee has never changed.
Every part of camp is built around the same mission: to share the truth of God’s Word, point campers to Christ, and create an environment where lives can truly be changed.

What makes us unique
More Than a Summer Camp
Camp Okefenokee is not just a place for activities and recreation. It is a place where campers are loved, encouraged, challenged, and reminded of God’s truth throughout the week.
From chapel services and Bible teaching to outdoor games, Southern-style meals, cabin friendships, and time away from everyday distractions, camp gives young people space to focus on what matters most.

Christ-Centered Teaching
Campers attend daily services where the Word of God is boldly preached and their hearts are encouraged through biblical truth.
Southern Hospitality
Campers are served three meals daily with the kind of Southern-style cooking Camp Okefenokee has become known for.
Outdoor Activities
From fishing and canoeing to sports, swimming, games, zip line, and more, campers enjoy a full week of fun and friendship.
A Place With Purpose
Everything at Camp Okefenokee is designed with one goal in mind: helping campers grow spiritually and experience a life-changing week.
About us
Serving Campers Since 1983
Camp Okefenokee was started by Pastor Earl Dorminey as a ministry of Ware Baptist Church in Waycross, Georgia. Today, the camp continues as a nonprofit ministry of Swamp Road Baptist Church, operating on kingdom principles of faith.
Through the support of churches, businesses, families, and individuals, Camp Okefenokee continues to serve campers year after year. Volunteers, sponsors, and donors give their time, food, resources, and financial support to help make camp possible.
The facilities have grown, but the mission remains the same: to provide a Christ-centered place where campers can hear the Gospel, build meaningful friendships, and make decisions that impact their lives for eternity.
